For the past 18 years I have been working as a full-time artist, working from my studio in Island Bay, Wellington, New Zealand.
I am part maori (Te Ati Awa), surrounded by a whanau of creative souls, one uncle is a landscape artist, the other was a maori carver and my mother a textile designer & maker.
I create art works and jewellery pieces. My favourite mediums to work with are paper, wood, clay, paint, pouring medium & resin.
I am constantly drawn to the relationship between colour, texture, pattern and form found in the natural world around us. My paintings evolve from a place of intuition, layer upon layer, upon layer, always seeking the hidden unspoken meaning in the work.
My focus for the past 10 years has primary been on creating jewellery pieces, which I have sold through many art galleries and design stores within New Zealand & Australia.
Over the past three years I have reignited my interest in creating artworks, but I will still create a limited range of jewellery pieces to compliment my current artworks.
